Say goodbye to the Saints' fun loving veteran Lance Moore, as the team cut him today in a cost saving move. The release will save the Saints ~$3 million against the cap. Moore had a down year last season but he will be sorely missed as a vital part of the offense for a long time. After having his first career 1,000 yard season in 2012, though, he strangely dropped off signficantly with a 37 catch for 457 yards in 13 games season. I'll miss lots about Moore, but most of all his ridiculous touchdown dances. In terms of performance, his biggest play is unquestionably the famous 2 point conversion pictured. That play is a top 10 in franchise history given the degree of difficulty, the importance of the play in the game, and the stage it was made on.
Here's a replay of the score in question:
As far as his celebrations, nothing will ever top the re-enactment he made of the Hingle McCringleberry skit on Comedy Central. Here is the Lance Moore version:
And here's the original version for comparison's sake:
Moore broke the news this morning himself on twitter and had a message for the fans:
Thank you New Orleans for an amazing nine years. Who Dat Nation, the best on earth!!!

We'll miss you Lance. I believe he'll be a good receiver for someone next season.
